PEXA, an online property lodgement, and settlement platform allow for settlements to be conducted remotely. Both parties have access to a collaborative workspace, enabling lawyers to complete settlements together. Other benefits to using PEXA include funds transferred via PEXA are available in your account within 2 hours and the use of the online platform creates greater certainty for all parties.
Beware of scammers
Technology is not without its challenges. With more transactions now being conducted online, there are new types of scams that can happen to anyone.
Scammers can intercept emails and redirect people to make payments into the wrong accounts. Scammers can also pretend to be well-known companies to try to retrieve personal details or immediate payments.
Always remember to check an email address before sending any information and confirm bank details over the phone before making transfers. Beware of any emails claiming to change bank details.
